Job Title: Temporary Water Quality Tech IV

Job Hours: Approx. 32 hours per week; 8am-5pm
Salary: $15.50 per hour

Description: 
The Medford Water Commission (MWC) is seeking a Temporary Water Quality Tech IV to start April 24th.

Work duties: 
  • Perform fire hydrant flushing throughout the City of Medford and White City
  • Measure, record, and maintain detailed records of flushing and water quality data
 
Skills and abilities required: 
  • Excellent map reading skills 
  • Skill in using computers and related software applications including Word, Excel, and   GIS mapping
  • Good driving ability 
  • Courteous and respectful when dealing with the public
  • Good advocate for MWC and pride in maintaining high drinking water quality standards
  • Ability to work alone
 
Training/Experience required: 
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
  • Water distribution system knowledge preferred
 
Physical requirements: 
  • Work performed consists mostly of outdoor fieldwork
  • Work is performed in all weather conditions
  • Work requires repetitive motions:
    • In and out of vehicle often
    • Loading and unloading flushing equipment from vehicle
    • Opening/closing hydrants – twisting motion
    • Ability to lift 30 pounds
