Water Works Brass for Sale - Surplus Property

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Medford Water Commission (MWC) is offering to sell the following surplus water works materials to the highest responsive, responsible bidder: Water Works Brass. MWC will receive written sealed bids endorsed “Water Works Brass”, on the official Bid Form (available on the website: medfordwater.org), until 2:00 pm, local time, Tuesday, November 4, 2014, which will be publicly opened and read at 200 S. Ivy St., Room 177, Medford, Oregon. The materials are described as follows: Approximately 30,000 pounds of new, unused water works brass fittings, classified as “semi-red brass” and “yellow brass”. Highest percentage of brass is semi-red brass. Brass is new and in the manufacturers’ boxes. The successful bidder will be responsible to weigh and bid brass by type, separately. Materials are offered for sale AS-IS and WHERE-IS, without warranty or recourse against MWC as to conditional state. Brass materials shall be weighed at an agreed upon independent certified scale in the Medford area. Bidder shall bear all costs of weighing brass materials. Tare slips shall be delivered to MWC within 24 hours of weighing. Brass can be viewed between 8:30 am - 3:00 pm, Monday – Friday, up to October 31, 2014, at 821 N. Columbus Ave., Medford, Oregon. Sealed bids on bid forms should be mailed or delivered personally to Medford Water Commission, ATTN: Ken Johnson, 200 S. Ivy St. – Room 177, Medford, OR 97501. Facsimile (FAX), email or late bids will not be accepted. MWC may reject any bid not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and require­ments, and may reject for good cause any or all bids upon a finding of MWC that it is in the public interest to do so. TERMS: Payment by the successful bidder shall be made in full by cashier’s check only, with acceptable identification, within seven (7) calendar days following notification of award. The property must be removed from MWC premises within three (3) days of payment. The purchaser shall bear all costs relating to the removal of property and shall, during the process, hold MWC harmless against any claims for damage or bodily injury asserted by any person engaged in the removal activity. If property is not removed within allowable time frames, the property will be re-advertised or sold to the next highest bidder.
