Preserving Our Commitment to Our Customers - Phase 2 Update
Yesterday, Governor Brown approved Jackson County’s request to enter Phase 2 of the reopening process. What this means for our community is the reopening of recreational sports and venues like movie theaters and bowling alleys, some additional in-office work, bars and restaurants able to stay open until midnight, and social/civic and faith-based gatherings can meet in larger, physically-distanced groups, all subject to public health guidelines, physical distancing, gathering size limits, and sanitization guidelines. While many businesses are able to once again open their doors to the public, this time actually represents the greatest danger to our utility, when safety measures have been relaxed, and physical interaction has increased. The service we provide remains essential to the Rogue Valley and the protection of public health, and in order to preserve our commitment to our customers and our employees, our offices will remain closed to the public until Phase 3.
Our essential employees are still working hard to provide the level of service you have come to expect, we're just asking our customers, contractors, and vendors to use our many online and telephone options for doing business.
We are not disconnecting water service for non-payment and have suspended late fees during this time, to ensure that everyone has access to resources they need to stay healthy and take care of their families.
This is a precaution to keep our employees, customers, and contractors/vendors safe. It is presently unclear how long Phase 2 will last, but we will continue to reevaluate as the situation evolves.
