How smart is your irrigation system?
Smart Irrigation Month is a public awareness campaign to promote efficient water use. Focused on July, traditionally the month of peak demand for outdoor water use, the campaign highlights simple practices and innovative technologies to:
- Make maintaining green spaces easy and convenient
- Minimize overwatering while keeping lawns, gardens and landscapes beautiful and healthy
- Save money on utility bills
- Help protect community water supplies for today and the future
This year, we’re celebrating the solutions that irrigation professionals bring society through best practices and efficient technologies. It’s time to share with the world the importance smart irrigation has in food production and sustaining landscapes. Smart Irrigation Month is an Irrigation Association initiative to promote the social, economic and environmental benefits of efficient irrigation technologies, products and services in landscape, turf and agricultural irrigation.
With the extreme temperatures that we have been seeing in our area, this is a great time to take a look at your irrigation system and landscape to determine if changes can be made that can save you water and money!
