Deer grazing at water facilities
The deer are back at the Commission's eastside facilities this month. Commission staff regularly see evidence of deer having been inside the fenced areas surrounding our hillside facilities, including those with taller fences. With the Hillcrest pump station being adjacent to the road, deer here have been particularly visible. Clearly, the deer are skilled jumpers, and seem to find our sites have delectable food, shade, and privacy. They are able to get in and, similarly, able to get out. Therefore, as in past years, the Commission is following the advice of Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, which recommended that people stay well away from the deer. Hopefully, this will not remain a source of concern for our customers.
