Best Tasting Water in Southern Oregon Region

Medford Water won Best Tasting Water in Southern Oregon in a competition held in March by the Southern Oregon Subsection of the American Water Works Association's Pacific Northwest Section. Members of the subsection represent utilities ranging from small community water systems to systems serving over 100,000 users in Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, and Lake counties.

Entries are judged by a panel of volunteers and ranked on criteria set by the American Water Works Association.

This award makes our organization eligible to compete in the region-wide competition in May, which includes participating water utilities from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, and continues a tradition of providing drinking water of the highest quality to our customers. For more information on water quality, please visit our Water Quality page or call (541) 774-2430.

GFOA has also granted the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for our FY22/23 Annual Budget

These achievements are the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and budgeting, and their attainment represents a significant accomplishment by an organization and its management.
This makes Medford Water one of select states, cities, counties, special districts, school districts, and others across the United States and Canada that have been recognized for transparency in these areas.

Our Finance team--as well as many other staff--contribute to these documents and do a great job collaborating and making sure they are a useful tool both internally and externally. You can view them here:
