Calling all household cleaning supplies, paint removers, and garden chemicals!
Rogue Disposal & Recycling’s annual Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day will be held Saturday, May 2nd, 2026.
This is your chance to safely dispose of your household toxins and keep them out of our water sources; everything from drain cleaner and weed killer, to bleach, household batteries, and bug spray. Preventing pollutants from going into our waterways—such as down the sink drain or through storm drains, which flow into streams—saves on water treatment costs and makes the water more hospitable for the fish, wildlife, plants, and humans that depend on it.

We have received water sample results for those addresses in SW Medford under the Boil Water Advisory issued yesterday, which show no bacteria present. The Boil Water Advisory has been lifted for all affected customers, and it is no longer necessary to boil water.
The advisory was a precaution to protect public health until our water quality testing confirmed that bacteria was not present. We thank the affected customers for their patience and cooperation during this time and apologize for the inconvenience. For details, including the full list of addresses that had been affected, and FAQs, go to medfordwater.org/alerts.
A precautionary Boil Water Advisory has been issued for some customers in the southwest Medford area ONLY; see the attached map. This advisory applies only to those addresses identified on the attached map (a full list of addresses is available at medfordwater.org/alerts). If you are one of the specified addresses, do not drink the water without boiling it first.
Affected customers should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, brushing teeth, preparing food or baby formula, and cleaning food surfaces. This advisory is a precaution to protect public health; continue to boil your water for drinking and these other purposes until further notice. For more information, including Boil Water Advisory FAQs, go to medfordwater.org/alerts.
As #FixALeak Week comes to a close, remember that you can still check for leaks all year long! When it’s time to start up your sprinkler system, check for broken sprinklers or nozzles spraying in the wrong direction, and check the zones and run times.
You may want to consult an irrigation professional or contact our Water Efficiency Team for a FREE sprinkler survey. Stay tuned for more tips before the watering season begins! #FixALeak
Another simple step you can take outside is to check your water meter. Turn off all water-using appliances/fixtures (including automatic ice makers) before leaving the house for an hour or two. Write down the numbers from your meter and do the same as soon as you return. If the numbers are different, you likely have a leak.
Bonus Tip: If your water meter has a red leak indicator dial, you can use it to check as well! If it is turning while all water is off, you likely have a leak. #FixALeak
Water meters are located in concrete boxes in the ground usually at the property line in front of or behind your home. It’s a good idea to locate yours and acquaint yourself with turning your water supply off/on before a water emergency occurs. medfordwater.org/yourmeter
Don`t forget garden hoses! If your garden hose leaks at its connection to the spigot while you run it, replace the nylon or rubber hose washer and ensure a tight connection to the spigot using pipe tape and a wrench. #FixALeak
Earlier this week we looked for leaky trouble inside your home; let`s move outside now! Look for drips and puddles under those hose bibs and any outdoor piping which could indicate a leak that might just need tightening at the joint. #FixALeak
Today our Water Efficiency Team is at Grover Electric and Plumbing Supply in Medford until 2 p.m., providing consumers with information about finding and fixing common leaks, as well as information about water efficient products. Come say hello! #FixALeak
If you end up needing to replace a fixture or appliance, EPA WaterSense makes it easy to select water–efficient products that can help your wallet AND the environment without noticing a difference in flow. Just look for products bearing the WaterSense label at your local retailer or go to bit.ly/3K6kLHy to search products online. 👀
When you go for a drink, check for drips at the sink! Many faucet leaks can also be easily fixed by tightening the fitting or replacing an inexpensive O-ring. Other tips: bit.ly/4hnZ6Io. #FixALeak
