Rebates

Toilet Rebate

In an average home with older plumbing fixtures, nearly one-third of the water used indoors is flushed down toilets. In order to keep more water from going down the drain, Medford Water offers a toilet rebate to help property owners replace their old relics with new low-flush models.

Medford Water customers can receive a rebate of up to $85 with the purchase and installation of a new WaterSense certified dual-flush, or 1.28-gallon or less per flush model (up to $85 for the first toilet replaced and recycled, and $40 thereafter per toilet replaced and recycled). For eligibility requirements and instructions, click on the Apply Now button above.

Once installed, the new toilet will then provide years of savings on water charges. Just how much depends on the size of your current toilet and the number of people using it. With WaterSense certified toilets, you’ll flush about 70 percent less water than with a toilet installed prior to 1994, and 20 percent less than the current standard 1.6 gallon per flush toilet.

Look for the WaterSense logo when shopping for other plumbing products too. Even without rebates, installing them just makes sense, helping make it easy to save water every day. You can also check out how new toilets stack up at the Toilet Testing website.

Smart Irrigation Controller Rebate

Residential outdoor water use in the United States accounts for more than 9 billion gallons of water each day, mainly for landscape irrigation. Experts estimate that as much as 50 percent of this water is wasted due to overwatering caused by inefficiencies in irrigation methods and systems. Irrigation control technologies can significantly reduce overwatering by applying water only when plants need it.

By replacing an old standard sprinkler timer with a WaterSense labeled smart controller, the average household can save an estimated 8,800 gallons of water annually.

Replace your existing standard sprinkler timer with a WaterSense labeled smart irrigation controller, or install one new if installing for the first time (such as a new build) and receive:

  • $150 total (or up to purchase price of controller and additional required equipment) for installation of a controller with greater than 12 stations
  • $100 total (or up to purchase price of controller and additional required equipment) for installation of a controller with 12 stations or less
