Our Organization

Who We Are

Medford Water is an autonomous agency of the City of Medford, Oregon, established through a change in the city charter on November 7, 1922, and is governed by the Board of Water Commissioners.

General Manager Brad Taylor oversees the activities of the Finance, Engineering, Operations, Water Efficiency, Customer Service, IT, Human Resources, Communications, Water Quality and Treatment, and Water Resources divisions.

Our vision is to be the Rogue Valley’s trusted municipal water provider for present and future generations, through responsible stewardship, accountability, and the pursuit of excellence.

WHAT WE DO

Medford Water operates and maintains the water system that delivers high-quality drinking water to around 150,000 Rogue Valley residents.

Big Butte Springs is our primary water source, with the Rogue River used as a supplement during the summer months, directly serving customers in the City of Medford and the unincorporated community of White City. The cities of Ashland, Central Point, Eagle Point, Jacksonville, Phoenix, and Talent are served on a wholesale basis. Additionally, the Elk City Water District purchases water.

What We Are Working On

As the Rogue Valley’s trusted municipal water provider for over 100 years, we are working to ensure we can serve our customers for the next hundred years as well. Accomplishing this is tied to the implementation of our 10-year Capital Plan, which serves as a roadmap for the renewal, replacement, and expansion of facilities needed to serve our customers, as well as the responsible financial planning of these projects so that the funding is available when it is needed.

We have obtained Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) funding, which will allow our customers to benefit from significant cost savings, as we receive no support from taxes; these funds allow us to prudently finance projects while avoiding the burden of large rate increases. It also allows us to continue a tradition of safely and effectively delivering water to the growing population of the Rogue Valley.
