Medford Water Earns Award for Excellence in Promoting WaterSense Labeled Products
- October 11, 2024 | Category: Water Efficiency
WaterSense, a voluntary partnership program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is both a label for water-efficient products and a resource for helping you save water. We are a proud WaterSense partner, helping to promote water-efficient products, practices, and services. Each year they recognize those partners who have gone above and beyond in supporting this program at the annual WaterSmart Innovations Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This year, Medford Water earned our first WaterSense Award for Excellence in Promoting WaterSense Labeled Products. Among many other activities to promote water efficiency, we helped customers find ways to save water through indoor audits, during which we provided free WaterSense labeled water-efficient showerheads and faucet aerators, as well as information about our WaterSense labeled toilet and smart controller rebate programs.
Our Water Efficiency Team also conducts sprinkler surveys; residents receive a free inspection of their sprinkler systems, and we offer a rebate to replace old irrigation controllers with WaterSense labeled models. In 2023, we partnered with several local hardware stores to promote our WaterSense labeled product rebates during Fix a Leak Week; thanks to these partnerships and promotional efforts, we rebated over 70 WaterSense labeled toilets in 2023. To increase the number of irrigation professionals promoting water efficiency in the area, we also held a Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor class that emphasized WaterSense labeled irrigation controllers.
We look forward to further expanding our water efficiency activities in 2025, and helping our customers save water AND money! Find more information on our Water Efficiency page.
Since 2006, WaterSense partners have helped save 8.7 trillion gallons of water and $207 billion on consumer utility bills.
