It's Source Water Protection Week! - Sept. 24-30, 2023

American Water Works Association has invited water utilities, sections, and other partners to participate in Source Water Protection Week, September 24th through 30th, 2023.
Keeping rivers and lakes free from pollution makes it easier and less expensive to keep water safe and healthy. In this way, protecting our water sources is an important first step in fulfilling our mission to safeguard public health by providing a reliable, high-quality water supply at the best value.
Our source water protection activities include outreach and education through many in-person and virtual events, spill prevention and response planning, land management/restoration through implementation of our Forest Management Plan, planning and collaboration with many regional partners, and improved water quality monitoring.
