INVITATION TO BID: DUCTILE IRON PIPE STORAGE AND HANDLING

Notice is hereby given that Medford Water Commission (Medford Water), by and through its Board of Water Commissioners, will receive bids until 3:00 p.m., Local Time, Tuesday, May 23, 2023 for its Ductile Iron Pipe Storage and Handling project.  All bids shall be identified as “DUCTILE IRON PIPE STORAGE AND HANDLING” and must include all components of the bid submittal packet and any addenda.  Bids will be publicly opened and read by Medford Water staff. All bids will be filed for public inspection following the bid opening. The contractor shall provide everything necessary for construction of these improvements in Medford, Oregon with the exception of owner identified work. This work consists of but is not limited to: 5 acres of storage provided with security fencing and access, equipment for offloading and handling of large diameter ductile iron pipe and fittings, and labor to provide for equipment operations and safe handling.

Follow the link from the Home Page, Doing Business under Bids marked “DUCTILE IRON PIPE STORAGE AND HANDLING”, then select ‘click here for plans’ under the Plans column.  Potential bidders must contact Mark Depner, Purchasing Agent, at mark.depner@medfordwater.org or (541) 774-2459 to be provided a login password.  Potential bidders will be responsible for all printing and production requirements for reproduction of the bid documents.  Contractor will need to make arrangements to produce their own hard copies.

Facsimile (FAX) proposals are not acceptable. Each bid must contain a statement as to whether the bidder is a resident bidder. A sample contract is included. All employers working under the contract are subject to the workers compensation laws of the State of Oregon. Temporary employees, leased workers, and independent contractors do not qualify for Medford Water benefits.
 
Notification to bidders of project addenda will only be made electronically on Medford Water’s website (www.medfordwater.org). Within two working hours after the date and time of the deadline when bids are due to a contracting agency for a public improvement contract, a bidder shall submit to the contracting agency a disclosure of the first-tier subcontractors pursuant to ORS 279C.370, if applicable. A surety bond, signed irrevocable letter of credit issued by an insured institution as defined in ORS 706.008, cashier’s check, or certified check of each bidder shall be submitted with or posted for all bids as bid security unless the contract for which a bid is submitted has been exempted from this requirement under ORS 279C.390. The security may not exceed 10 percent of the amount bid for the contract. This project does not contain asbestos abatement work and the contractor or (any) subcontractor will not be required to be licensed by the Oregon DEQ pursuant to ORS 468A.720. Medford Water may cancel the procurement or reject for good cause any or all bids in accordance with ORS 279B.100. Medford Water reserves the right to postpone the award of the con­tract for a period not to exceed 60 days.
