Spring Start-up for Sprinklers
Although it is not generally necessary to water daily in the spring in our area, there are several recommended steps to take when restarting your sprinkler system after it has been shut down for the winter. It is beneficial to get these done ahead of the summer watering season, to look for damage and misaligned sprinkler heads that will increase water waste.
Spruce up your sprinkler system in four easy steps:
INSPECT sprinkler heads for breaks and leaks. A broken one can waste 25,000 gallons of water in six months.
CONNECT sprinklers, pipes, and valves well. A leak as small as the tip of a pen can waste 6,300 gallons of water per month!
